All of this plays into a new way businesses and SEO professionals need to think when approaching what keywords to target and what SERP positions to chase. The enterprise SEO platforms are beginning to do this, but the next step in SEO is full-blown content recommendation engines and predictive analytics. By using all of the data you pull from your various SEO tools, Google Search Console, and keyword and trend data from social listening platforms, you can optimize for a given keyword or query before Google does it first. If your keyword research uncovers a high-value keyword or SERP for which Google has not yet monetized the page with a Quick Answer or a Featured Snippet, then pounce on that opportunity.

Scalability. Scalability is important to any business process. It gives you the flexibility to meet your growing needs. Make sure your SEO tool can expand its functionalities either by integration with third-party apps, customization of the features or via add-ons. For example, can the tool adapt to the mobile platform? Does it have a browser plugin or publishing platform plugin that complements the app?
We concentrated on the keyword-based aspect of all the SEO tools that included the capabilities, because that's where most business users will primarily focus. Monitoring particular keywords and your existing URL positions in search rankings is important but, once you've set that up, it's largely an automated process. Automated position-monitoring features are a given in most SEO platforms and most will alert you to issues, but they don't actively improve your search position. Though in tools such as AWR Cloud, Moz Pro, and Searchmetrics, position monitoring can become a proactive process that feeds back into your SEO strategy. It can spur further keyword research and targeted site and competitor domain crawling.

What I Used Before This: When we needed to collect content from clients previously, we would create a template using a google doc, and then email the document to the client. We’d ask them to fill in the blanks, but we’d have to set 100s of tasks for ourselves to make sure they got each document filled out. Then, we’d email them again, and again and again. Then, multiply that by a bunch of clients. We were pulling our hair out.
Regardless of the fact that some research may make it appear as if software isn’t an area in which traditional affiliate networks are particularly strong, one may get surprised by how many top software brands run their affiliate programs on the CJs and ShareASales of the world. Additionally, there is also a number of highly specialist affiliate networks with primary focus on software of all types and kinds: from business-to-consumer (B2C) to business-to-business (B2B) software, and from downloadable to that which is offered on software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis. Finally, do not count on affiliate networks (whether traditional or specialist) only. There will be brands that do not belong to any network but run their own in-house based affiliate programs (either on their proprietary platforms, or on purchased/leased software). So, in your search for software affiliate programs you really want to look for them in three places: (i) traditional affiliate networks, (ii) software-specific networks, and (iii) in-house based affiliate programs.

Cool feature: The GKP tells you how likely someone searching for that keyword will buy something from you. How? Look at the “competition” and “top of page bid” columns. If the “competition” and “estimated bid” are high, you probably have a keyword that converts well. I put more weight on this than straight-up search volume. After all, who wants a bunch of tire kickers coming to their site?

I’ve been trying to sort through mine. Its so hard to keep up and some tools that were great are not anymore. I have reviewed a few hundred lists like this including of course the big ones below. I also have found that Google knows when your doing heavy lifting (even without a lot of queries or scripts). Some of my tools again very simple ones will flag google and halt my search session and log me out of Chrome. I worry sometimes they will blacklist my IP. Even setting search results to 100 per page will sometimes set a flag.

Syed Irfan Ajmal, a Growth Marketing Manager at Ridester, loves the SEO keyword tool Ahrefs. He shares, “Ahrefs is surely our most favorite tool when it comes to various facets of SEO such as keyword research, rank tracking, competitor research, SEO audit, viral content research and much more. That would be the Domain Comparison tool. We add our site and those of 4 of our competitors to it. This helps to find sites which have backlinked to our competitors but not us. This helps us find great link opportunities. But this wouldn’t have been so great if Ahrefs didn’t have the largest database of backlinks. Ahrefs has been instrumental in getting our site ranked for several major keywords, and getting us to 350,000 visitors per month.”
